ROCKY MOUNT - Genevieve Joyner Pridgen, age 88, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Born in Nash County on January 30, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Freeman Joyner and Olive "Ollie" Joyner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Pridgen; her son, Don Lee Pridgen; her sisters, Eunice Joyner Robbins and Marjorie "Margie" Joyner Bone; and her brothers, Charlie "Lee" Joyner, Atlas Joyner, Aaron Joyner, Clarence Joyner, George Joyner, William "Gorham" Joyner, and Bobby "Warnell" Joyner.

Genevieve is survived by her daughter, Gayle Pridgen Evans; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be immediately following the service at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
